The initial work of Global Adolescent Project was to settle teens left homeless from the 2010 earthquake, enroll them in school and provide emotional support. At the same time, we found ourselves doing numerous mental health trainings with both professionals and paraprofessionals in the community.

As the kids grow and become more self sufficient, we have been able to turn our attention to our initial intent in going to Haiti; education and training in mental health. We started G.A.P.-CREATE (Global Adolescent Project-Community for Recovery and Trauma Education), an initiative which emerged as a result of our community education efforts and partnerships with organizations on the ground in Haiti and in the United States.  Our activities include;

-Training in Mental Wellbeing, Addictions, and Trauma Resilence

-Peer Education and Training in at risk schools

-Paraprofessional Training -Mental Health Agents

-Annual Conference in Spirituality and Mental Health

-Service travel

-Self help group development
